Count of Monte Cristo and Swashbuckling D&D

Have you kids seen this movie? Great stuff. Makes me want to play a duelist.

But what I would really dig is some new fencing styles --- either OA feat-chain-plus-mastery-bonus, or prestige classes, or both.

Hmmm...add this to the list of Things I'd Like To Work On If I Had Time.

Did I read somewhere that 7th Sea has a d20 book coming out? Can anyone testify as to the quality of this or another swashbuckler setting?

hmmm.. I'm thinking hard, and can't remember TOO much "swashbuckling" stuff in the Count of MC.

I saw it recently, and my wife and I were truly impressed with the strength of the movie, and the narrative line.

Most of his battles were forced upon him - I don't remember too many 'buckles being swashed'.
Just because there were fights involving swords, I didn't think of it as D&D-influencing.

LOVED the movie, though. If you haven't seen a previous version, or read the book, DEFINATELY see this.
