For example, I absolutely love FFG's stuff and wanted to have it for sale in my store, but it was never in stock at Ingram. The Dragonstar Galaxy Guide was on backorder for almost a year before we closed and it never showed up. I even called FFG to inquire about the situation (especially considering Ingram showed over 80 copies on order for their own warehouse stock ever since the book had been published) and I was told by FFG staff that I should open an account with a smaller games-oriented distributor in order to get their product, but that they would look into the situation and get back to me (they never did). To me, this was an unacceptable solution. Although my store wasn't a gaming store per se, I did keep a small section devoted to our hobby because of my passion for it. I didn't do enough sales in games to make a minimum order from another company, however, and I shouldn't have had to set up another account anyway. If the smaller companies are not willing to ship their product to the largest book distributor out there (the one that services Barnes & Noble, Borders, BooksAMillion, etc, BTW), how do they expect our hobby to grow or penetrate into major markets?Don't get me wrong, I still love FFG and I buy their products (especially Midnight which I think is the best campaign setting I've ever seen), but I find the situation to be ridiculous. And FFG's not the only company either. If anyone's interested, I'd be glad to pull up my Ingram account (it's still active) and give you the current in-stock situation for any publisher.I'm being vocal about this because I think it is a situation that needs to change in order for our hobby's profile and profitibility to grow. I love d20 publishers too much to see them squander their opportunities in such a haphazard fashion.Jay</blockquote>
