Isles of Albion I've thought about having a more "traditional medieval" setting for a while. Rather than that, I've gone for a Dark Ages Britain setting. The overall feel is King Lear mixed with Gormenghast and folk lore. Isles of Albion The setting is Dark Ages Albion, with Mithraism and paganism as vicious rivals, with petty kings and princelings rather than a united empire. Magic is understated – it lies in the hands of the fey, the wise and those with the blood of something else running through their veins. Strange beings dwell in the dark places, and heroes and villains are sometimes more than human. [sblock]The setting uses E6 rules. After consideration, I didn't include any non-human race – elves, satyrs, dwarves, wood giants (“woodwose”) and so on were left out. Races: Human only. Backgrounds and Bloodlines:

Background Levels (Background Levels) – beggars, the cloistered, courtiers, craftsmen, explorer, the felonious, horsemen, merchants, nobles, outdoorsmen, performers, professionals, sailors, scholars and soldiers can be found in any society.
Faerie Bloodlines (Bloodline Levels, Monstrous Bloodlines) – aranea, doppleganger, ettercap, fey, treant and troll bloodlines are manifestations of Faerie blood.
Kain's Marked (Bloodline Levels) – demon, ghoul, hag, harpy, lamia, minotaur, ogre and vampire bloodlines are manifestations of the Mark of Kain, the mark laid on descendants of the hateful brother of Mithras.
Werewolves (Bloodline Levels) – descendants of werewolves cannot escape the lycanthrope bloodline.
Standard Classes:

Strider (Extraordinary Rangers) – wanderers and woodsmen, rangers and scouts, as well as members of barbaric tribes with an acute connection to nature.
Assassin (Heroes of Fantasy) – though they do not go by the name assassin, treacherous killers and spies are a reality of politics in this age. Many are disguised as low-ranking servants or valets until their lord has need of them.
Avenger (Heroes of Fantasy) – both pagans and Mithrites have need of holy warriors to enforce their sacred teachings.
Cabalist (Heroes of Fantasy) – witches and magicians who work in secrecy for their own inscrutable purposes, cabalists are looked on with precious little sympathy by commoners and nobles alike.
Charismatic (Heroes of Fantasy) – saints and miracle-workers display spontaneous supernatural powers when they are empowered by their god.
Crusader (Heroes of Fantasy) – though some talk about crusades against the Tiamat-worshippers of the east, the main crusades are against pagans in Albion.
Exorcist (Heroes of Fantasy) – although more of an Eastern tradition than a Western one, some members of the clergy study angelology and demonology to rid Mithrites of possession.
Explorer (Heroes of Fantasy) – the lands of Albion have not yet been explored, nor have the pagan roads been mapped by the Church. Aristocrats always have need of eyes and ears to tell them of trade opportunities, barbarian uprisings and newly-discovered resources.
Fool (Heroes of Fantasy) – often the most trusted member of a noble's court, it takes a joke in very poor taste, indiscretion or terrible advice to have a fool ousted. Others are simply overwhelmed by wanderlust.
(I will add the hedge wizard, knight, mercenary and noble classes when Heroes of Fantasy is fully uploaded).[/sblock]
