Creating a Gladiator-PC for a 10-year old

I am starting a D&D 3.5 campaign for my 10-year-old kids + a few kids in the neighborhood. One of the boys wants to play a 'gladiator-type' character. Another boy (my son) has already created a barbarian so I'm left wondering how I can create a gladiator-esque character from a fighter (or other class) that doesn't overlap my son's character.

Can you help me create a gladiator-esque character? Feat progression? Skills?

Thanks.

Don't be afraid to go straight Fighter. Check out the feat trees that start with Combat Reflexes, Power Attack and Dodge. These allow a combatant who is accustomed to a bit of give and take to make tactical decisions on the fly, and they 'describe' three different types of warrior. Most of the Improved feats work well too, and of course, the Fighter's own Weapon Specialization. With so many ways to build a Fighter, by sixth level you can have quite the focused gladiator with six (seven if human) feats and loads of damage dealing/avoiding potential. Enjoy!
