Wights... Oh Wights. Why purpose Elven pleasure slaves? You have all of those nice little handy villages around to turn and burn as you see fit, making yourself some wights... And you mean it would be difficult for your 20th level Evil Cleric to cover up a little villacide? Nah.. I think he'll be ok. And all of those wights make one hell of a boarding party :). Also... Why use slaves when you can oppress locals? An Evildoer oppressing the locals of a small village? Pssh, you're under the radar of the Epics going about, it is just a hamlet after all. Find nice villages far out of range of your domain to Teleport into, bring along one wight, spawn up 5-6 wights, and then jump back. Spend 1000GP and Teleportation Circle? If you have a Wizard you can pay off or who serves as a cohort pay them in lovely pleasure slaves and have them cast permanency on three Teleportation Circles that let out in a hostile location where you hold sway. Figure 33,000 for each Circle... But you have created a plausibly deniable little hideaway and run-away/run-to for all of your escape hatch needs. You have a hidden Circle a couple of hundred miles away off the beaten path near a trade route. Every once in awhile you put a couple wights in coffins, tell them to hush until the lid opens, and offer a nice little piece of change for the transportation of your grandfather/daughter/etc. The Wight is dropped off, knows where and what it is doing, and have your trusted Wight bring back a dozen or so travelers who won't be missed. They travel by night, hide themselves in the day, and take the two or three days back to the Circle and freedom. Expensive? Yes, moreso than wiping out a village. Is it worth covering your behind until the group of adventurers comes in. Then you have that fancy tile of sending or an alarm beacon go off. Poor CR appropriate adventurers.. Noone ever expects the near-epic cleric to sweep in, kill and create, and bring back the Band of the Iron Lances as the new motley wights for his pleasure pits :D. Slainte, -Loonook.
