My friends and I are looking to create Dwarven forge style Gaming tiles right from the tile to the walls for D&D/Pathfinder games or whatever. I am not sure where this goes. But I'm someone will be so kind as to let me know or move it We are looking to create from scratch, meaning that Hirst arts casting is out. Or any premade molds. We are researching information about crafting tiles, such as what materiel, methods, techniques and equipment to create the master tile out of. (master tile being the one we will make a mold of so we mas produce plaster tiles.) We have tried Clay, but have found that achieving a consistent thickness and strait up and down cuts are difficult. Since we want out Finished tiles to perfectly uniform so as to fit together we may abandon using clay to create a master tile. However I recently watched a video on you tube where a women creates original tiles, She makes them as 1x1 tiles and then ups 4 on top of cork board to create a 2x2 tile. Where Before when we worked with clay we wore tying to make 2x2, 3x3 and 4x4 tiles right off the bat, that might have been out downfall. We may revisit Clay using this technique. Next We Have tried crafting a master tile out of pink installation foam from Home depot... With an x acto knife we wore able to get pretty spot on detail. One big problem is that any cut we make may be to sharp, witch is good for tiled flor but bad fr anything requiring higher detail such as cobble stone. We are currently looking into a hot wire foam cutter. Again We wore starting out trying to make 2x2, 3x3 and 4x4 tiles... But I think we currently need to look into just making 1x1 tiles and putting them together to make larger tiles. So any links to good information, personal experience that will help or be informative to my task would be great. Since I am just not getting into this type of tile making, my group and I are making shots in the dark with what advice we can find.
