There are a number of people/companies out there creating prestige classes. Are any of them (aside from the small article in the DMG) giving the guidelines for creating these classes?

Two good source of guidelines for PrC creation:
- "Class Acts: Create Your Own Prestige Classes," by Monte Cook, from Dragon #274
- Monte Cook's Prestige Class Online Design Workshop (which overlaps somewhat with the above article), in two parts: http://www.montecook.com/arch_dmonly9.html, http://www.montecook.com/arch_dmonly10.html.
The article goes through the process and then presents the mystic, a PrC created with those guidelines. The workshop examines a couple of fan-created PrCs and uses that as a vehicle for discussing good general design goals, etc. Both offer solid advice.

I hadn't made the connection between the Don Adam mentioned in the workshop and the DonAdam here. 
I wouldn't be too worried about it -- and actually, I'd probably be sort of excited about it, myself. Monte didn't lambast your PrC or your design skills, and he made some good points using your design as an example. I think that's pretty cool.
