One more attempt at trying to revive this post. :) Town Stables You can hear animals noises coming from this large wooden structure. The building is long and contains a multitude of stalls filled with various animals, mainly horses. A large open field behind the building allows for the horses to graze and get exercise. A few stablehands can be seen running about, tending mounts and keeping the stables clean. The owner of the stables is a member of the local barbarian tribe that has taken a liking to city life. Granted the city is actually the size of a village, but it is city enough for him. He offers a place to lodge mounts while visiting the village, for a flat rate of 5sp per night. This fee includes feeding the animal, as well as grooming and security. The barbarian and his stablehands are very skilled in their work and are able to take care of more esoteric mounts, such as griffins or pegasi, although the rate increases dramatically to at least 1gp per night or more, depending on the nature of the mount. PCs can also purchase mounts and draft animals here, mainly mundane animals such as horses, ponies, riding dogs, mules, and donkeys. However, on ocassion, the barbarian travels to the wilds and brings back stranger creatures to be used as mounts, such as hippogriffs. He sells either unhatched eggs, untrained young, or trained mounts, for twice the listed in price the Monster Manual. He also purchases unhatched eggs, untrained young, or untrained adults for the listed price in the Monster Manual.
