Dear Jason, Thanks for writing back. I had done some asking around, and found out that the wait time for a response was greater during the holidays, so I decided not to sweat it. I’m glad to hear that you like more than one of my proposals, and I definitely agree that taking one at a time is a good idea! I’ve never written an article before, but I believe that 2/21/05 should be a reasonable deadline – and I will notify you immediately if I would have a hard time meeting it. You mentioned that you commented on my proposals inline – did you mean that you wrote notes about each of the proposals and the ideas therein? If so, I did not receive anything like that; just your response to the original e-mail itself. I am glad that you chose the Mind Flayer-related “Monsters of the Mind” for me to explore first. It seems like excellent timing with the Lords of Madness book coming out. Please do make sure that I don’t step too far into territory already covered in the book, if possible; I don’t want to write a lot of things that are repeated from the book, or even worse contradict it! I hope I don’t repeat any monsters that will already be covered in that volume. As for the Rilmani, some friends and I were brainstorming and sharing ideas on what to write for Dragon articles. I’ll pass that idea back to them; perhaps someone who feels more passionately about these most passionless outsiders will kindly take up their crusade. We’ll be sharing input on ideas when we write, to help each other out. I’m confident that we’ll come up with other appealing articles in the future. Also, I had sent another proposal in (I want to say) November, about a Bugbear pantheon, but never received a response for that one.
