Though I've not used it, I've been told the book Torn Asunder covers the topic quite well.

Well, i finally tracked the book down on amazon, it looks pretty good. Anyone know if there's a pdf version? Not that i don't like books, im just impatiant and like the immediacy(<--might not be a word) of pdfs =D

Well, it's not conculsive, but a quick search of RPGNow didn't turn it up, so I'm guessing not. I've got TA:CH on my amazon 'to buy' list, I'll be happy to share my thoughts when I get it...

hey if you do, send me a pm if you think about it. i dont get to check the boards an aweful lot so i'm sure stuff passes me buy. I prefer to buy books from my local game store, so i might see if they have it next time i can make it up there ^^

thanks =)

If you want something in PDF, and don't mind converting a non-D20 source, I can not recommend enough the Arms Law for Rolemaster. The critical hits tables here are extensive, and colorful.

It is very good and the pdf version might be out next spring.

I really reccomend Torn Asunder. The critical hit effects are very well done. The feats and new character classes (prestige and otherwise) are great.

A former DM of mine used a critical table which he apparently got from dndadventure.com . I use it in Pledge of Tyranny for my hit location/called shot rules, and it's worked wonderfully. Puts the fear of GM back into characters, and makes taking wound damage even more lethal than before :]
