Critical Hits Question: Does the Str Bonus Multiply?

What about bonuses from Powerlunge?

The Powerlunge feat (from Sword and Fist) states:

Do you:

  1. Calculate the attack's damage including criticals, and then add double normal Strength modifier?
    Or
  2. Multiply the "double normal Strength modifier" by the crit multiplier when calculating total damage?[/list=1]

  1. It's #2. If you did 1d8+4 (Str 18 is +4, doubled to +8 because of power lunge) and criticaled it would be 2d8+16.

Edit---> I screwed up while typing, because someone asked me something else, and I completely forgot what I was doing. Sorry! :)

multiple multipliers

Remember the multiple mutliplier rule, where the extra damage multiples are added. So x2 str bonus on a critical that does x2 is a total of x3 strength bonus (not x4). The way I think of this is x2 damage is really +(x1 damage) and x3 damage is really +(x2 damage). A complicated and somewhat minor rule most of the time, but it does keep those odd convergences from creating x8 or x16 damage on occasion.
