I created this triad of spells for my dwarf wizard/argent savant, Durgo. I'd like some critique on whather I may be missing anything, whethaer the spell levels are too high / low, whether the compnents seem proper, etc: Durgo’s Craftable Force I Evocation [Force] Level: Sorcerer/Wizard 4 Components: V, S, M Range: 0ft. Effect: Object of force up to a 2 ft. cube Duration: 1 round / level Saving Throw: None Spell Resistance: See text This spell brings into existence a volume of force that the caster can shape to resemble any simple object that can fit into a 2 ft. cube. The object can not have any moving parts or any intricate textures, but it can be as firm or as malleable as the caster desires. A hammer or crowbar, or even a pliable rope could be created with this spell (though no longer than a 2 ft. length), but a pulley or a set of lockpicks could not. During the duration of the spell, the caster can change the shape of the force object on his turn as a free action. For example, a 6th level caster could create a crowbar at the onset of the spell to help force open a barred door. If this takes two rounds, then on the third round, the caster could take a free action to change the shape of the force object from that of a crowbar into a wedge which he can then use to stop the door that they just opened. This wedge will remain until the spell expires or until the caster changes the shape again. The caster must be holding the force object to change its shape, but otherwise can leave the object unattended for the duration of the spell. The force object is not really meant to be used in combat, but if the object is used to strike a creature, treat it as an improvised weapon (-4 penalty to hit) which deals 1d4 damage. If thrown it has a range increment of 20 ft.. Using the force object as a weapon dispels the spell immediately following the first time it hits an opponent as a melee weapon, or immediately after being used as a range weapon. Likewise, if the force object is used to make a shield (armor is too complex an object for this spell), it bestows a +1 shield bonus (not requiring shield proficiency), but the spell is cancelled after the first time the wielder is successfully hit. The force object can be destroyed by any effect that can destroy a wall of force. The object can be made permanent by way of a permanency spell, but if you do, the object’s shape cannot be altered. Material component: a handful of wood shavings or iron filings. Durgo’s Craftable Force II Level: Sorcerer/Wizard 6 Effect: Object of force up to a 5 ft. cube This spell functions like Durgo’s Craftable Force I, except the caster can create a simple object of force that can fit into a 5 ft. cube, or a more complex object that can fit into a 2 ft. x 2 ft. cube. The complex object can have one or two moving parts, like a pulley, or intricate textures, like a set of lockpicks, but not have any very complex inner workings, like a clockwork object or a lock. The caster can also create an object that which fires projectiles (like a bow, crossbow, or sling) without cancelling the spell, but the improvised weapon penalty still applies. Durgo’s Craftable Force III Level: Sorcerer/Wizard 8 Effect: Object of force up to 10 ft. cube This spell functions like Durgo’s Craftable Force II, except you can create a simple object of force that can fit into a 10 ft. cube, an object of force with one or two moving parts or an intricate texture that can fit into a 5 ft. cube, or any non-living object of force you can think of that can fit into a 2 ft. cube.
