Crossgen Comics

Citizen K

First Post
Hey folks,

I'm curious who out there is reading Crossgen comics on a regular basis, and which titles.

For those unfamilar with Crossgen, it's a comic book company that aims to produce action stories without traditional superheroes - fantasy, sci-fi, horror etc.

I've started reading the monthly trade collections, and found a couple of the stories to my liking. Ruse, Sojourn and The Path seem particularly cool.

Thoughts?

I like the concept of the company (that they have the first real bullpen in comics in the last 15-20 years), but I have not picked up any of their books yet. I will probably pick up anything nominated for an Eisner this year at the next San Diego Comic Con International.

Yep. I'm a big fan of Crossgen, with my current faves being Sojourn & Ruse.

I'm currently waiting for the monthly compilations Edge and Forge to catch up (its a much more cost effective way to read crossgen comics). In the meantime I continue to read Sojourn (its so far ahead of the above compilations that I could wait for it to catch up.

Actually crossgen is one reasons my Marvel/DC reading is pretty small. Currently the only Marvel/DC stuff I get is Avengers, JLA, The Order and ASM. And JLA is looking a bit shakey - I havent been too impressed with the new writer so far.

For those interested in trying 'em out there is even an online service which has some free preview issues here

I've been collecting all of crossgens stuff since the beginning, my favorite is probably Scion, although The path and Sojuorn are close seconds. Crux and Negation a very good and Way of the Rat looks real promising based on issue one. Really though the whole line is pretty exeptional.
