I'm playing a Factotum and intend to take two levels of Chameleon to gain it's floating feat. However, I'm not at all familiar with most of DnD's feats and have no real idea what crossroad feats would be the best choices for a generalist character. Crossroad Feat: A Feat, which allows access to two or more other Feats through use of the Chameleon's floating Feat. (Chameleon's floating Feat is a Feat you can change per day. After realizing I could use it to gain access to all the Item Creation Feats I was much more delighted with it.) Originally intended progression: Human Level 1: Quickdraw, Scroll Creation Level 3: ? Level 6: Jack of All Trades Level 8: Chameleon's Floating Feat Level 9: Jack of All Trades or Psychic Ability (Depending on whether or not an enchanted item with a bunch of +1 to all skills will allow me to add Factotum Cunning Knowledge without taking Jack of All Trades for a second time.(Cunning Knowledge allows me to add my Factotum level to any skill in which I have at least one rank, once per day per skill.)) (Psychic Ability is from "The Psychic's Handbook" by "Green Ronin Publishing." Review of The Psychic's Handbook - RPGnet d20) Description of Psychic Ability: http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Psychic_Ability_(3.5e_Feat) Level 12: Psychic Ability or Psychometabolism Level 15: Psychometabolism or Psychoportation Level 18: Psychoportation or Telepathy Flaws for Feats: I know I ought to place at least one flaw in the beginning and hold onto a second for later to increase penetration into the Psychic feats...but like I said, don't know which feats to choose so I'm very wary of taking anything so far. I'm not including higher levels because while told that we'll be allowed in this game to go over level 20 I've heard that most games don't go that far. In which case this all I'd be allowed to bring in. Character's purpose is to be able to go in all directions. In fact this reminds me of a post I'd made which I used when asking the other players in my group what class I should be. Here: The Crystal Hall: Questions and Answers => GEO What class would you be? Additionally, I don't care for interactions with god/desses so divine feats aren't ones I'd take. If anything I'd try to steal their magic and make it arcane so anyone can use it. The feats I do know would work with the Chameleon's floating Feat as Crossroad Feats are: Combat Expertise Point Blank Shot I've also been considering the Feat "Run" because I've read that mobility is important and it allows you to keep your AC while running. But are there better Crossroad Feats? Our DM said they were allowing all 3.5 books. Thank you in advance for any advice you're willing to give. Additionally, does anyone have advice on how to play an effective generalist character?
