It is 96 pages in length and retails for $17.95.</p><p></p><p><em>Crusades of Valour</em> gives you the means to bring religious wars to your campaign. The information in this book is structured in such a way that player characters may only be exposed a little or thrust into the heart of a religious war depending on the GM's desires. The main theme of this book is deity-sanctioned warfare. GMs will learn how best to incorporate religious wars into their world.</p><p></p><p>The Knight is a prestige class that is primarily NPC in nature but player characters who are actively a part of a crusade may also take this class. The Janissary is a five level NPC prestige class where a slave slowly becomes eligible to become a knight. The new feats and spells are all contingent on active participation in a crusade. Nineteen religious orders/organizations that a knight may belong to are presented in moderate detail. The bulk of the book is filled with guidelines and information on running a crusade campaign complete with a new mass combat system. The Cinematic Battle System is an open content system that allows players to take part in large-scale battles. The system is a bit complex but easily learned. Several good ideas for adventure hooks wrap up the material in Crusades.</p><p></p><p>Overall, <em>Crusades of Valour</em> is a well-written book. However, due to the very theme of the book, it is limited in appeal. With the exception of the Cinematic Battle System, nearly all of the material has to be used in the context of waging some type of religious war. GMs who are actively looking for this type of book will get a lot of use from it, but the rest of us probably won't beyond the initial reading.
