Hi all, I'm currently running a game set in FR with Cthulhu attempting to usurp the powers of the Realms Deities. The party is around 7th-8th level. I'm looking for suggestions on what kind of D&D monsters to use as the parties primary antagonists. They are currently running through the 3rd of the adventure path series in Dragon. It works perfectly as it is set in the Underdark involving Kuo-toa. I like the Kua-Toa but would rather introduce another race as the main baddies assisting Cthulhu into Toril. I'm considering the Kaorti as the primary race of badness. The question I have is, should I avoid having one group be the antagonists? I like the idea of the Kaorti, but I don't want to limit my options. Anyone have any other races that may work as the baddies? Oh, the kicker is that Cthulhu is using a "hole" in the Abyss to worm his way into this world. Lolth was the first Goddess to notice this intrusion. She has lowered herself to actually ask for help in dealing with this extradimensional threat as she is feeling herself being siphoned away by Cthulhu. Lolth has sought out all the "Good" Gods, however only Torm listened to Her. Torm investigated and verified Lolths claim. The paladin in the party is actually going to be receiving help from Lolth and Torm when he gets his mount at 8th level. He will be getting a Fiendish Large Spider, obviously. :-) Lolth has, as a result of losing much of her divine power, moved to Cauldron and has setup a shop. She is helping the party develop so that they can deal with the mortal agents of Cthulhu. Anyhow any help or suggestions you folks can provide me in fleshing out my campaign would be greatly appreciated. Bill
