Cuirious - Dragotha's Stats - Dragon # 134

First Post
I am wondering if anyone here has Dragon #134 with Dragotha's stats in it. Would anyone be willing to share those stats? For some reason, that issue is not in my collection of Dragon magazines (which goes back to #75) and I am interested in how Dragotha was statted out. I have heard that he/she will make a cameo in the Age of Worms.

He was pretty powerful at the time with a breath weapon that could animate up to a certain HD those that he killed. One of the first undead dragons whose name was mentioned in the classic White Plume Mountain. Good stuff and glad to hear he's making a 3.5 comeback although last I saw he shacked up with Tiamat and made it to the Realms.

Dragotha will have more than a cameo in Age of Worms. As for stats... there's an adventure called Dragotha's Lair for 2nd edition D&D up on the WotC site. It lives at http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/dx20010817a if you want to check it out.

I can't wait to see Dragotha's 3.5 incarnation. I downloaded the adventure you mentioned. Dragotha's stats in there are not as complete as I remember from the Dragon article though.

a little thread necromancy never hurt, right? ;) especially given the subject of this thread! :)

i must say i have really been noticing more and more how much AoW has been dipping into the classic villans that haven't gotten a lot of playing time in recent years. i don't have any of the issues yet, but the feeling in me is getting stronger and stronger that i'm going to have to check it out... :)

I second BOZ's acclaim for classic villains, but am I the only one who thinks Dragotha is an incredibly lame name?

What's next, a floating, many-eyed creature named Beholdra?

Well, technically, "New York" is a pretty lame and derivative name also, but we give it props, too. Sounds like something out of Sid Meier's Civilzation, when they started running out of names for cities. ;)

Ever since the words, "Beyond to the lair of Dragotha, the Undead Dragon, where fabulous riches and hideous death await," appeared on that map in Whie Plume Mountain before my 15-year-old eyes, Dragotha has had a special place in the "wonder and mystery" part of my heart. :)

Ooh, how about a giant moth named Mothra... oh wait.

Me too, though I was a bit younger when I first read those words. "White Plume Mountain" and its TRUE sequel "Ex Keraptis Cum Amore" are two of my favorites.
