No, not at all. I haven't stated the context of my reasons for buying a new RPG system in my previous post (I didn't want to bore you all with it, but since you're asking...). My buying habits and yours must be completely different, and for the reasons I make purchases. I never buy anything because its something new, and I want to try it out. I only ever buy anything because I have some kind of need, and most often such purchases aren't made until years and years after its release to the public - I never want to be the first in line for any product (RPGs or otherwise). I never generally make purchases based on brand loyalty, its only ever based on my research for a given product, and what I deem to be my best choice at the time. Of course I did move to PF at Beta for the reason discussed below. Consider that when 3x was released, I was still playing 2e. Just because 3x was created in no way meant, I needed to purchase that system. It wasn't until a new player joined our group that had hopes to one day publish a 3x campaign he'd been writing, that we even looked at 3x at all, and that was 2006. That person never did publish his adventure (although it was kind of poorly designed and written anyway). Had that new member with his specific system request for 3x never happened, there would be a very good chance that our table would still be playing 2e, even today. It was only because I too wanted to publish my own oriental setting and didn't want to have to compete with the existing OA 3x Rokugan, that I even looked at Pathfinder in the first place. So it was for that reason alone that our table switched to PF. I have since published the Kaidan setting of Japanese horror (PFRPG) as an imprint under Rite Publishing, then ran a Kickstarter to fund the creation of hard back printed GMs and Players guides to the setting - which we are still in the final stages of work preparing it for release. Because there are yet a ton of supplements and adventures I want to create for that setting intended for Pathfinder RPG, I don't see a compelling reason to look at another game system until my setting and all products I want to develop has been created - which I see requires at least 2-4 years more. And even then, there would have to be a direct compelling need to look at another RPG system to consider another switch. If, by some chance, that another opportunity or a new member with new needs joins our group, then perhaps that might be a reason to look at Next (of course that would only be considered after the complete development of Kaidan). Short of something like that, however, I don't it ever happening. So its not due to being stubborn and dogmatic - I don't ever make purchases of anything based on emotion, only ever for some tangible need. Companies and brands mean nothing to me - I don't have any hostilities nor attachments to any RPG company (except my own and those that I freelance for - and I have done freelance work for Paizo Publishing.)
