Boog recalled an incident from when he had been passing through a small village on the way to Orussus, about a month or so ago. A small child had been lost, then, after the entire town (and Boog) had been mustered to find the tot, he'd been found playing inside a large haystack. The boy's parents had the most distinct mixture of anger that the child had caused so much trouble, and joyous relief that their little one was alive and well. Boog knew he wasn't much of an actor, but that was the mixture of emotions that he tried to evoke when he confronted Fredlar. "Here, here, now, are you all right?" Without waiting for a reply, he continued. "You don't want to go wandering off at this time of night. Only the gods know what you'll run into away from camp...all sorts of wild creatures live out here. And look how you're riled up the others!" Lowering his voice to press the point home, he continued: "You know, I'd bet a couple of them aren't sure if they can trust you, after that little ambush thing and all that. If I were you, I'd just sit around the fire and try to make a friend or two, if you could. Why don't you try to do that, and I'll try to calm them down. I'll be along shortly." Boog hoped that would do the trick for now. He was running out of mental power, and couldn't keep doing this all night. Now that they knew what Fredlar really thought of them, perhaps they'd take of the matter properly.
