I figure he's going to spend his one 5th level spell slot on scrying pretty much every day, so there's no point in having him prepare another 5th level spell.Fire shield is useful because it's not a concentration spell. He can have that up and running along with mirror image and longstrider and still cast something like phantasmal killer that does require concentration.</blockquote>
