Though if they were new to D&D with Phandelver it might be ok if they’re a small group 3-4 players. Though I would skip to Vallaki and beef up the encounters.The problem is that powerful PCs with level 5 resources destroy the horror aspect of the game because they’re just too darn capable. Curse of Strahd is best played under leveled not over leveled.I ran it for 3 experienced players appearing in Barovia out of the mists at level 1 surrounded by wolves and it was just right.</blockquote>
