"My ship? Wot in blazes gives yer that idea!" He laughs. "Nah, mates, it ain't my ship, but you lot musta been sent over be Jorune to act as guards. He done right class there. I'm the first mate. Yers can call me Starbuck. Cappy's on the quarterdeck; ye might wanna talk with 'im there." He steps out of the way to let you on board The Unexpected. The main deck is covered by coiled lines and barrels, which an enterprising crew of half-elves and humans are bringing down into the holds. They pay no heed to you (unless one of you happens to get in the way, in which you get a sharp, "Oyyer, bloke, wot's the matter with you?") as you move aft to the quarterdeck (the after part of the main deck, slightly raised and usually reserved for officers). A broad half-elf, bearded, but official looking in demeanor and dress, stands near the wheel, talking with a couple of younger half-elves. He stops when he sees you coming and waves them away. "Well, then, you must be the guards that Jorune sent me. Interesting. A 'forged, a shifter, a gnome, and a human. No one's going to mistake you for Lyrandar folk. Very well. Your watches will be four hours on, eight off, four hours on, eight off, all the way through the trip — I can fill in the other eight with my crew and some other treasure hunters that I've got on board. You will spend all of your watches on deck. You have the run of the second deck and main deck, but the quarterdeck and my cabin are off limits, save for by my invitation." He pauses for a moment to make sure things are clear. "You'll bunk with the crew down on the second deck, forward. You will eat immediately following your watch. You will eat what the crew eats. In case we're attacked, I ask you to wait for my instructions, unless we're boarded, in which case, you should do what you feel is best. Questions?"
