De Vere, responding to Starbuck, nods. "We should prepare them." He, the half-elf caster, and the mate start to move towards the main deck, midships, where the lifeboats hang. One to starboard, one to port. That's when the mast bursts out of the center of the ship and flies into the ocean. In the gaping hole in the center of the deck stands a large sahuagin, some 10 feet tall, with four arms and a vicious trident. Planks of wood hang from the weapon's teeth.
