These mines are at the base of the Calnick mountains, which are west of the current location.</p><p></p><p>Although the majority of the slaves are men, the slave pits house a a number of middle aged woman who work on the copper extraction processes. About 28 year ago a graying, middle aged woman, call Bathara, arrived at Calnick heavy with child. Bathara looked much older than her actual age, her hair almost gray, her face and body showing that the world had not treated her kindly. However, it was obvious to all who looked beyond the surface that she was once a great beauty.</p><p></p><p>Shortly after arriving Bathara gave birth to a healthy baby boy, who she named Errin. Errin had very little childhood, as soon has he was able to do the simplest task he was put to work. Thus his boyhood was one of mind numbing drudgery.</p><p></p><p>Errin knows nothing of his mother's early life. She says it is to painful to remember and refuses to speak of it. All he knows is that she was pregnant when she arrived at Calnick and gave birth to him shortly after.</p><p></p><p>Errin drudgery continued until he entered puberty, when things changed significantly. Without any warning, Calnick was subject to a series of poltergeist attacks and ghostly apparitions. As the slaves were deathly afraid and on the point of rioting, the complex management took action. Accret, the mine manager, dragged himself from his office and into the slave pens. His investigations took several weeks but eventually he was able to determine that Errin was in the process of developing Sorcerous powers.</p><p></p><p>Thus Accret became Errin's mentor. Or to put it another way, Errin became Accret's personal slave. To be fair Accret taught Errin a lot. He taught him to read and write, he took him to the surrounding towns and villages so the he could become accustomed to the outside world, he told him about peoples weaknesses and how they could be exploited for ones own ends. Most importantly, he told him what he know about what was happening to him, allowing Errin to bring his powers under control. Of course, Accret used Errin's weakness, his love for his mother, to keep him under control.</p><p></p><p>Errin's chance of freedom came shortly after his 28th birthday. That particular day, Accret had sent Errin on an errand to a town a days walk from the mine. Thus Errin was required to stay overnight in an inn. Errin had just gone to bed and was in that state between conscientiousness and sleep, when a ghostly apparition appeared in the room. Despite its translucent appearance, Errin know that this was his mother or at least her shade. "Fear for me no longer my son. For I go to receive the peace that I failed to find on this mortal plane. Linger not but go far from this place and quickly." With that the apparition faded and was gone. Errin, now fully awake, waited until the inn had settled down for the night, collected his meager possessions and crept quietly away from the inn to start a new life.</p><p></p><p>Personality</p><p></p><p>Errin is a timid man who always tries to blend into the background and never puts himself forward. He is always ready to submit to authority. Any suggestion he makes will be tentative and will be immediately withdrawn if there is any opposition. Likewise he will always follow any order regardless of whether the person giving them has any actual authority. </p><p></p><p>Appearance</p><p></p><p>Errin is a nondescript slight short man of average weight. He wears standard, sandy coloured travelling clothes and his brown, shoulder length hair is tied back in a headband.</p><p></p><p>Unfortunately his attempt to blend in is destroyed by his obviously elven features and his pale skin.
