It's always super neat to get a compliment from a respected peer.  Seeing everyone else elevate their character offerings makes me want to elevate my own roleplay, makes me dig deeper to drum up viable characters of my own.  I'm grateful.  Given that Picayune is supposed to be superior at trombone, I will probably up him to Bard 3 just so I can place him in the College of Jazz.  With all his racial abilities as an Effigy, I don't know that bumping him to Bard 4 or Bard 5 would be best.  I want everyone to shine.I assigned Str 8 and Con 12.  In trying to balance the racial traits, I dropped Undead because I was concerned it was too overpowering.  Right now, Picayune is just an "Augmented Humanoid."  He definitely died during the gas explosion during Katrina, so I consider him to be undead.  In the iteration posted above, he's just not Undead.  If you take my meaning.  I can add Undead back, if you think it weakens him.  Undead makes him susceptible to being turned, so maybe that would be good for balance?In this iteration, I tried to clean up and aimed for balance.  Shayuri pointed out that Bards can select vicious mockery as a cantrip, so my thinking when I re-drafted Picayune was that I shouldn't take vicious mockery as a racial feature since I can take it as a class feature.  No need to double dip.Picayune is a trombonist.  Sometimes he uses his voice, but his main thing is the trombone.  He plays a little trumpet, but not to the extent that he's brilliant with the trombone.  Expertise in Perform (trombone) would be a good fit.  If Picayune's life merits adding a Proficiency, I'm less clear what that Proficiency ought to be.  Deception might be a good one; jazz musicians make excellent story tellers and liars.  I'm open to suggestions for other Proficiencies.  I skimmed the 5e PHB section on Proficiencies but nothing stood out and grabbed my attention.I'm excited to give him a whirl on the dance floor.  I hope he pans out as I envision him.  And, hey, if he's something different, then I'll enjoy the surprise.</blockquote>
