What do you think your posting rate will be? We could really use a fighter of some species--particularly a Planes-savvy character--but whether I feel good about adding an additional player depends in part on whether the poster is able to make daily posts. For example, I didn't post for most of Saturday and Sunday in the IC this past weekend, and lost a number of opportunities to contribute. This group posts at a fast clip. Blink and you miss a lot. Well, right now, at least. This is PbP, so the posting rate could and probably will vary. I guess this is where I ask you how much you think you'll be posting here? Agreed. I think a planar familiar would be nifty. Of the three choices you offered, I like the sentient wise-cracking spellbook the best. I like that the spellbook is playful, and that it offers Graydon the opportunity to expand his repertoire of spells. Helping Graydon helps the group, so mo' spells is mo' bettah. Plus, BOOK. Like, cool, man. It's like Tom Riddle's diary all over again. What's not to love about that? I imagine the sentient book could also be hijacked as a plot device and used by the DM, too. The androgynous golden being sounds intriguing. I mean, it's androgynous. I like it when characters play with gender. I like that the familiar could be useful to the group by opening a portal. Going places is fun! It also seems like you could put to work your extensive Planescape knowledge if you took on this role. It's hard to resist this character concept; I'm a sucker for cussing. The f bomb is my favorite word. It's got a fascinating etymology. The bilabial "f" sounds great. It's one syllable. It multitasks. It's connotative. I adore it. Please tell me you'd use a shi-t ton of f bombs if you go this route. The mimir is probably going to appeal to most of us because you provided tie-ins to all our characters. I know my eyes bugged out with glee when I read "Delta blues." Shayuri in particular might welcome a tie-in. Shard is so very skittish right now. Having a tie-in for Shard might help make her feel more comfortable. Then again, it might totally wig her out. Potay-to, potah-to. I sense that you most want to play the mimic. If that's the case, then that's what you should opt for. This idea is creepy as hell. I love it. It might also work super really well if you think you prefer to post less often. Playing the NPC villain would allow you to cameo for spurts of time, then be vacant for stretches when/if you had other things going on.
