Brue flinched. Moments later, when the gnome said he'd prefer to be called Schepp, Brue let out a breath she hadn't known she'd been holding. At least she wouldn't be expected to call him Boddynock. A relief, that. Brue looked at Gnorth, Corilo, and Lorenzo, Corilo, gesturing for them to come a bit closer. She didn't look at or address Schepp, but she pointedly moved to the side to make room for him. "Rowena left out bits and bobs. I'm the 'diplomat.'" Someone snorted in disdain, prompting Brue to look up and frown before continuing, "...as I was saying, I'm the 'diplomat' Rowena sent with the treaty to the Wealdath. I delivered it as promised the Elves, picked up their ceremonial staff, and was enroute back to Kirgard when I was set upon." She scrubbed at her ear. "Can't for the life of me think why Her Majesty chose a sword and board fighter for that job, except I'm of a heritage outside the norm; perhaps she thought there'd be less exception taken to the likes me, purely for the shade of my skin. Well, anyway. It turned out to be a bad job all around. I must've taken a hard knock to the head; I woke up at the Temple of Waukeen in Mosstone, and don't recall my assailants. Or where I was accosted, even." Brue frowned again. "I'm no diplomat. I kill things, that's my trade. Look, I don't know why in the Realms Rowena thought she needed to leave off that tidbit, but if it were me being asked to take a jaunt to Port Kir to fetch and carry, I'd want to know the company I was asked to keep." The earth genasi paused. "One more thing. My memory's no good since the bump on the head." She snorted at Lorenzo in a friendly way, shooting the cleric a grin. "Not that it was much to begin with. But it's worse now."
