Seeing the genasi climb out of the well, Greycastle sighed in exasperation. He was about to open his mouth when he noticed the glowing clasp and quirked an eyebrow. With an available opening and already too deep to pull back, Brue said her peace.</p><p></p><p>The old woman recoiled when presented with the hay and someone shouted, <span style="color: #0000FF">"She's trying to poison Old Maid Marge!"</span> Someone else shouted from the crowd, <span style="color: #0000FF">"...and we're supposed to trust you? Are you crazy?"</span> Finally, a voice in the back shouted, <span style="color: #0000FF">"This isn't a natural plague? We've got to get out of here!"</span></p><p></p><p>The crowd rumbled with anger, some looking ready for a fight while others eyed both north and south, the directions of the gates. The LawKeeper deputies standing in front of the crowd gripped their truncheons tightly in anticipation of an explosion of violence. As everything looked grim, Greycastle's booming voice filled the square. <span style="color: #0000FF">"HALT! Everyone, would you take the chance to listen to her? Or at least listen to me, you know me. The woman is correct, I did ask her to go into the well. We had a suspicion that the water had been contaminated, but I didn't want you good folk to worry without reason. I apologize for having deceived you, but it was important for Brue to do her work without interference. And look, she seems to have discovered the source of our plague! Now we know what the problem was, tainted drink! If we stick with clean water, we will be fine! So please, I beg of you. Take your supplies and return to your homes. As I said, we will reconvene tomorrow morning once we have our final answers. I am having the full Lawkeeper guard force on patrol this evening. Please stay in your homes."</span></p><p></p><p>Silence permeated the air for a moment before the crowd seemed to dissolve with a sigh. There were an awful lot of hard looks in the direction of Brue and Greycastle, but it seemed like most saw reason. Coinmaster Cooper, who had been standing worriedly with Janelle by the entrance to the Mossy Nymph approached Brue and Greycastle. Glancing at the woman's glowing lawkeeper badge, he said, <span style="color: #0000FF">"I see you've discovered a few tricks."</span> Noticing her wounds, he continued, <span style="color: #0000FF">"It also looks like you found a fair bit of danger down there."</span> Looking over the genasi's wounds, he mumbled a few words of healing.</p><p></p><p>Greycastle turned to Brue, looking grave, and said, <span style="color: #0000FF">"Good work in the well, although it would have been better if you had waited out the crowd. After the pyre-robbing incident yesterday, the townsfolk are not overly fond of you. Still, a ray of light in this darkness?
