Note the word 'revolution', and later 'rebellion', proves very difficult for any orc encountered to say, it takes several attempts to get right (actually to get wrong)- always. Which is a shame because there's a lot of chatter about both these things as we get on. Further note, Thugg (being a half-orc) picks up on this trait straight away, he (from this point on) has the same problem with both words. Anyway, five minutes of chatter and the PCs have learned that the upstairs orcs live here (the stinky room to the south that Yen looked in), but the downstairs orcs (note the PCs didn't know there was a downstairs- so this is quite a reveal) are in revolt. Odd Socks and Fingers go on to make clear that they can sneak the PCs downstairs where they can then gather up the revolting orcs and have an army to fight the giants. Thugg patiently explains (to everyone) that an army isn't needed, it's just some pesky giants that need offing- no biggie. He also makes clear that he was in a previous incarnation a mercenary general, and so he knows of what he speaks. Odd Socks and Fingers further explain that in the great hall atm are the following giants (the numbers are all rough guesses, the PCs pressed this point- they we're keen to find out, and so best guesses)- 5-8 hill giant servants (same as the six the PCs just fought). 6-10 ogre bosses, all dressed up in their best bib and tucker. 6-10 regular hill giants, including the Sgt who's armed, armoured and very dangerous (tough). One giant 'wot is made of stone', the PCs fathom- a stone giant. One giant giant, the PCs are not sure but the giant in question seems to be over twenty feet tall and dressed in robes. The hill giant subchief, who is a very big and nasty fellow. Chief Nosnra's wife- Guthra, who is also very big and nasty. And Chief Nosnra himself, who ate Fingers' fingers, and Odd Socks witnessed him tear the head off an ogre. The PCs response to this list is best summed up by Thugg. "We're gonna need an army!" Thugg goes on to explain (again) his credentials, he was a general etc. Thugg alas doesn't know where the PCs are going to get an army from. His friends refer him to the start of this conversation. Thugg is overjoyed, and pledges himself to lead the coming revo... review- revolv- what he said (points at Odd Socks). We're there. DCI Bawg takes a moment to straighten his hat of disguise. Bingo. And then we're off. Odd Socks leads the PCs in a rush down the huge corridor, and into the kitchen- and then quickly across and into the pantry- all without the PCs being seen. The kitchen is mayhem atm. And then, the PCs descend... Bloody hell, this place is enormous. Bawg is sneaky sneak. But just to say the PCs have been warned by Odd Socks that downstairs is home to- the Keeper, a great big (very tough) hunchbacked, one-eyed hill giant; and a big bunch of 'bigburrs', which the PCs translate to bugbears (correct). However, to the south- somewhere- are the downstairs orcs 'wot are revolving- reviewing- rev- what he said' (points at Thugg). So, it's time to start the revolution. It's time for Thugg to lead again. There are two doors over on the far side of this huge marshalling area that are ajar, Bawg determines, and then scuttles over to spy on a pair of bugbears in the first chamber. The chamber, off the east wall, seems to contain a bunch of cells. There are more bugbears beyond the ajar door to the south- many more bugbears. Anyway, as it turns out if you keep rolling '1's on your stealth checks there are consequences. Thugg cuts one of the bugbears in half with his greataxe. As faux pas go... One of the bugbears (in the jailhouse) starts ringing a bell- the alarm is sounded. But then Yen gets into action and soon after the bell-ringer is dead. However, as it turns out- and as previously explained by Odd Socks- 'der ar a poo-poo ton ov dem bugburrs.'
