The Hill Giants are not tactically adept, at least that's my take on things so they just spew out of the Great Hall and go charging into melee, throwing whatever they have to hand en route to the fracas.</strong></p><p></p><p>And the PCs, at the start of this one, I remembering back...</p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]430953[/ATTACH]</p><p><strong>To when Bawg went for a look-see in the Great Hall, the PCs are trying to figure out how many bad guys there are still to kill.</strong></p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]430954[/ATTACH]</p><p><strong>Bawg (who looks like a female orc slave atm) is doing fine work, note the rogue has just paid 100gp to an orc slave to borrow his crossbow, he needs the range.</strong></p><p></p><p>The fire squad have also called up a wall of orcs (well, three or four of 'em) to keep the giants at bay.</p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]430955[/ATTACH]</p><p><strong>But back down south the Hill Giants are still surging, there's no let up- note the square on the map is a web spell conjured by Piniccarus.</strong></p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]430956[/ATTACH]</p><p><strong>Thugg and Thunderguts (the dwarf smith rescued from below) are really dishing out the hurt. Note, Thunderguts is getting paid to do a job here.</strong></p><p></p><p>But then...</p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]430957[/ATTACH]</p><p><strong>Chief Nosnra waddles into the doorway, and the big chief is armed with a ballista (of sorts) which discharges not one but six spear-length bolts. This item is a one shot.</strong></p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]430958[/ATTACH]</p><p><strong>Lots of orcs (and a few PCs) take hits. The orcs very mostly die. The PCs slave orc army is looking a bit lightweight atm.</strong></p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]430959[/ATTACH]</p><p><strong>Oh look, a Stone Giant. The growling menace flings a massive rock (from it's bag) and another orc is crushed and killed.</strong></p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]430960[/ATTACH]</p><p><strong>But then Chief Nosnra and the Stone Giant get Yenned. Keep in mind the monk has a fifteen foot reach with his once/day dragon-something tattoo, and in conjunction with a Potion of Speed/Haste he's a menace. You'll note that the Stone Giant has also been knocked prone by the monk.</strong></p><p></p><p>Nosnra has seen enough.</p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]430961[/ATTACH]</p><p><strong>The Chief is late for an appointment elsewhere, or so it seems. Dibl, who is wielding a small tree as a club, steps in to cover his bosses retreat. He is the chop-socky champion.</strong></p><p></p><p>Meanwhile...</p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]430966[/ATTACH]</p><p><strong>The shooters are on their way, you'll note all of these orcs have been called forth by Bawg and/or Phreakalus, you can tell because orcs called by Phreakalus have names beginning with 'P', Bawg's orcs have names beginning with 'B'.</strong></p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]430967[/ATTACH]</p><p><strong>Dibl (and Grutha, and a few other Hill Giants/Ogres et al) are trying to hold the PCs up, Yen is hiding under a table and tapping his foot, waiting for his turn to come around.</strong></p><p></p><p>But in the corridor...</p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]430968[/ATTACH]</p><p><strong>Traffic is really thinning.</strong></p><p></p><p>Note Thugg is almost out of orcs, his guys keep getting killed, although Tormukk (the last Orog) is in play.</p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]430970[/ATTACH]</p><p><strong>Grutha sets her bear on Yen, but a hasted Yen is proving very difficult to hit (AC 21-ish, maybe more).</strong></p><p></p><p>But then...</p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]430972[/ATTACH]</p><p><strong>Bursting into the kitchen comes... well, a massive giant- wearing hareem pants, and the fellow looks to have fangs. This fellow is a Cloud Giant but the PCs, in-game and at the time, managed to all roll badly in their attempts to ID this fellow.</strong></p><p></p><p>The Cloud Giant is flying, and wielding a beautiful two handed sword, the big feller also has a speech to make, in an effort to strike terror into his enemies.</p><p></p><p>"I am..."</p><p></p><p>But, I'll be honest, the PCs- after a brief shouted chat amongst themselves, choose to either ignore or else barrack the big feller.</p><p></p><p>"Shut up yapping, yer big ruddy chuff!"</p><p></p><p>Or something very similar, as expressed by Thugg.</p><p></p><p>And then...</p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]430975[/ATTACH]</p><p><strong>Yen catches up with Chief Nosnra, and the big lad's last eighty or so hit points don't last the turn, Yen doesn't miss once- and with haste, and an Inspiration Point and all his martial arts unarmed attacks, anyway... ko'd.</strong></p><p></p><p>But let's just take a moment...</p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]430978[/ATTACH]</p><p><strong>Here's Yen's P.o.D.
