A team of heroes blatantly resembling - but never confirmed - to be the 80s cartoon cast, a bit older, appeared in the Forgotten Realms in Honor Among Thieves.6. Finally, the IDW comic was the first to explicitly place the kids' adventures in the Forgotten Realms. However, per the canon policy at the time, this would only be canon in those comics, not the tabletop game or the original cartoon.7. 5e Revised canon, finally, looks to be the first time they might officially be part of the tabletop Forgotten Realms. (Though technically not confirmed.)In short, them being in the Forgotten Realms wouldn't be a matter of preserving old lore (which they made clear a few years ago is not a major priority).
