D&D Miniatures: Archfiends - price to stay the same?

G'day, people!

I've just been alerted to this update on the gameoutfitter.com website:

Latest News

- - Rumors of a price increase for Archfiends are false. However, Wizards has announced that Archfiends will be allocated when released. This means that we will not initially receive all of the product that we request. As usual, we will ship on a first-ordered, first-shipped basis.

So, it seems that Archfiends may well be keeping the same $9.99 pricetag as earlier sets.

Hopefully I'll be able to get more confirmation when the WotC site comes back up. :)

Cheers!

What was the actual 'confirmation' of the price increase anyway? Just a single report...? I've not been sure whether to believe it...nice to see they seem to be keeping it to $9.99

Only the number of forms and advertising material from WotC sent to distributors and retailers with the $12.99 price on them - it's not just the one report.

There seems to be some problems with WotC advertising at the moment.

Cheers!

Just what does allocated mean?

As I understand it, it means they don't get all their boosters at once. :) When a product release can't fill all of its orders at once, it gives each store a percentage of their order - rather than one store getting it all and another getting none.

Or it could mean something else entirely. I really don't know.

Cheers!

It might be worth noting that in the WOTC press release thing about the upcoming Star Wars mini game (currently viewable on gamingreport.com and probably on wizards.com) the prices for starters and boosters are listed as being the same as the currend D&D mini prices. Hopefully the price increase was either a mistake or a bad idea that someone was floating to see what the public reaction would be.

That is basically correct, but don't forget to add the distributors in there. The orders are completed with the next shipment or two.
