D&D 5E D&D Next Material - Previous Editions

Good afternoon,

I have recently downloaded the latest edition of the D&D Next Playtest material (released 10/08/2012). I was wondering if there is somewhere where I can find the other two editions of it. I would be very interested to see how it has evolved over the course of the public playtest.

I don't think there is any legal way for you to get them. Wizards seems to making only the latest version available to beta testers, and the playtest terms and conditions prevent anyone else from sharing a copy of previous playtest packets with you.

Also, technically, I think we're on the fourth playtest packet now, not the third:

• 24 May 2012: Initial playtest packet released including How to Play, DM Guidelines, Bestiary, some pregen characters and an updated version of the Caves of Chaos adventure (which was initially publicly playtested at DDXP in January).
• 13 August 2012: Second playtest packet released, including character creation rules. New files include Character Creation, Classes, Races, Specialities, Backgrounds, Spells and Equipment.
• 17 August 2012: The second playtest packet is updated to add the sorcerer and warlock classes, as well as the Reclaiming Blingdenstone adventure playtested at Gencon.
• 8 October 2012: The third major playtest packet is released, adding a file on Magic Items, and updating the Bestiary and DM Guidelines.

The Legends & Lore article this week mentioned that another packet should be released this month.
