[title]ENnie Awards[/title]
Now is the time to throw your hat into the ring! People can now nominate themselves to run for a spot to be a judge for next years ENnie Awards!
For the tenth year, EN World in partnership with Gen Con Indy will be sponsoring the premier awards for excellence in role playing game publishing. As in previous years, a panel of five judges will adjudicate hundreds of RPG products to produce a shortlist of five excellent products in each of the categories from which fans will choose in an online election.
The judging panel, comprising fans and other individuals unconnected to the products submitted by publishers, is also selected through an online vote that will take place through a secure portal on the ENnies site.
Judging products is hard work requiring thousands of pages of reading and extensive consultation with other judges on the panel but it can be deeply rewarding, giving fans exposure to new products they might not otherwise have considered and allowing them to influence the hobby as a whole by highlighting excellence in the industry. Nevertheless, this is not a responsibility to take on lightly. Because of the substantial demands it places on one's volunteer time, it is important to think through one's family, relationship, employment and other volunteer commitments before agreeing to stand as a candidate.
If you think that you would be able to devote the time and energy needed to adjudicate the hundreds of products publishers will submit this year, please consider nominating yourself for a judging spot for this year's awards. Or, if you know of another individual who you think would be a strong addition to our judging panel, urge them to consider running.
Nomination forms must be submitted no earlier than midnight EDT July 1st and no later than midnight EDT, July 11th, 2010. Voting for judges will commence on July 16th, and the polls will close on July 25th.
