#4. If the character needs to pay out the base costs of making the weapon (64,315 gp)from his equipment costs, he needs to be at least 11th level (standard gear value 66,000 gp). In which case, in order to meet the other prerequisites for creating the item, he will need to be CL 12 - one possibility is a Dwarf Wizard 3/Cleric 3 (Good domain)/Mystic Theurge 4/Battlesmith 2, with the Practised Spellcaster (cleric or wizard) feat. Practised Spellcaster is in Complete Arcane and Complete Divine, and Battlesmith is from Races of Stone. Caster level for the purpose of creating magic arms and armor is 3 (base cleric or wizard) + 4(Mystic Theurge levels) + 4 (Practised Spellcaster) + 6 (Battlesmith) = 17, which is sufficient for creating a +5 weapon. The character needs to select keen edge as one of his wizard spells to meet all the prerequisites for creating the item. If the base cost of making the weapon is provided, a CL 10 Dwarf Wizard 2/Cleric 4 (Good domain)/Fighter 1/Battlesmith 3 with the Practised Spellcaster (cleric) feat will be sufficient. The prerequisites for the Battlesmith prestige class are: dwarf race, BAB +5, Craft (armorsmithing or weaponsmithing) 10 ranks, Heavy Armor Proficiency, Endurance, Weapon Focus (warhammer), and the character must have created a dwarvencraft weapon and used it in battle.
