They spend the first 21 minutes pleading with the audience to believe them that this really, really, REALLY isn’t a new edition, and everything currently in print (including the material in the 2014 core books) will still be usable alongside the 2024 core books. If you just want the UA feedback, you can skip to 22 minutes. Highlights: • New art for every class and subclass in the 2024 PHB • The three 2024 core rulebooks together will total close to 1,000 pages • 80+ new monsters in the 2024 MM • Not explicitly stated, but it sounds like monster stat block layouts are being redesigned to be more space-efficient • New Archfey Warlock at 98% approval • Everything in UA 7 got 70% approval of higher except Brawler and a couple individual Barbarian features. • Brawler is out, they’ll be putting something else in the fourth fighter subclass slot. They did imply that they might revisit the idea again at some point, but not for the 2024 PHB. Reasons cited were unclear identity; too much conceptual overlap with the Monk and the Barbarian. • World Tree Barbarian got enough satisfaction not to be scrapped, but will be seeing another UA pass along with the base class. • Monk, Druid, and Barbarian are the only classes getting another UA pass. The others are at high enough satisfaction that they’re moving on to internal testing. • Chris Perkins reiterated that the UA designs are “trial balloons” and will still be receiving changes based on internal playtesting, so final versions won’t necessarily be exactly as we’ve seen them so far.
