When it comes do firearms, the main reason I don't want it is both stylistic visuals and feel along with support for different styles of play. A lot of TV and movies have people getting into melee combat because it can be more engaging and interesting to the observer. Gunfights are just not as fun to participate in. That, and people know, or should know, how destructive a bullet is regardless of how minor they are on too many TV shows. That and ranged fights should be primarily about taking cover and sniping. It can be exciting to watch (obviously) but it's not simple. But a melee fights? Well, suddenly you can envision minor cuts, the strain and exhaustion from blocking. It's easy to visualize and stretch out. It's why so much fiction has this weird combination of firearms and melee in everything from Star Wars to the Arrowverse TV shows that were on CW to other games. Meanwhile it was always stretched the believability for me. How many times does the guy with a sword or unarmed combat run up to the guy with the gun and the guy with the gun just sits there? If Jedi can block weapons, why don't the enemies use shotguns outside of the occasional novel? I also don't recall a single movie or TV series set in a "medieval" setting that included firearms. You go from Excalibur with people in shiny plate armor to Pirates of the Caribbean dominated by flintlocks and little to nothing in between. People want to play what they've seen.
