In that later example, I was comparing Two CR 2 Ogres, the Core Ogre from the 2014 Monster Manual, and the Ogre Bolt Launcher from MOM.At CR 2, they both had the same HP, so they were both base Ogres. However, they gave the Bolt Launcher +4 more Dex (bumping AC and Dex saves by 2) and a long-ranged attack dealt 17 damage (3d10+1 from Dex). Comparatively, the 2014 Ogre's primary attack deals only 13 melee damage (2d8+4 from Str). Sure the Bolt Launcher is less accurate, but why does it deal 3d10 instead of the 2d10 from doubling the heavy crossbow damage like they did with other Large weapons? Will the 2024 Ogre's Large greatclub deal more damage like the Large heavy crossbow does with the Bolt Launcher?Also, it is very easy for the Bolt Launcher to have a greatclub on their person rather than just a fist, because swapping out weapons is the easiest modification to a stat block there is. Making this slight change makes them just better than the base Ogre overall.</blockquote>
