I mean, casters have been doing d10+mod and d12+mod for a while. I'd be fine with a martial character taking a feat and doing that damage with their multi-attack. And, as for explosives... they are in 2014 you realize, correct? Gunpowder does 3d6 (Horn, costs 35 gp) or 7d6 (Cask, costs 250 gp) damage when caught on fire to everything within 10 ft. Dynamite is 3d6 for a single stick, up to 10d6 for a large bundle. No cost listed. Grenades deal 5d6 damage. Grenades are DC 15, everything else is DC 12. And, there is some thought here. The horn is obviously too cheap, but also quite difficult to use safely, since it can't be thrown. And all of this is limited by money. Let us say that you want to deal 6d6 damage with a set DC. Well... a 3rd level spell scroll is actually the most equivalent thing to that, right? Since they are single use, just like explosives. And those are between 50 gp and 250 gp... so right in the correct ballpark for what we have costs for. So what is breaking here? A wizard buying a 3rd level spell scroll of a fighter buying a grenade seems highly equivalent. +1 damage weapons don't break anything. So where is the problem?</blockquote>
