We started out in a wood elf tree village. The first thing we were told to do was visit the elders hut. The hut was a story off the ground and accessible via a rope ladder. So we all went to climb up and the DM told us all to make a Climb roll. We are level 1 adventurers in a village with no enemies around, but he insisted we roll and not take 10. We spent 10 minutes real time going around the table because only one person had bothered to have a decent strength and ranks in climb. Suffice to say, that game didn't last too long, but it's a vivid reminder that dice rolls for skills get out of hand quickly if you use them for every mundane action.</blockquote>
