Yes, yes it is if the DM read the rulebook. Xanathar's, page 80, Create a typical meal, DC 10. Not make it tasty. CREATE the meal. Sorry that RAW isn't on your side. No, trillions of "cars driving on the road" over the course of a year. No, not trillions of cars on the road at any given moment, trillions of times that a car is on the road and could be in an accident And, again, 0.3% chance of a crash compared to 70% chance of failure in DnD. Kind of a big gap. No, I didn't move the goalpost at all. I pointed out that a typical doctor would have a far too high chance of failure at saving a pregnant woman. You started saying that for that scenario, you wouldn't have a typical doctor, you would have an expert with massive bonuses far and above a typical doctor. So, I pointed out that that vaunted expert would fail far too often at surgeries that would certain call for an expert... so you started saying that in those cases, you would have a super-genius with every single possible bonus they could have. That's not me moving the goalposts. That's you. Because every time I point out that the level of doctor we are talking about wouldn't match the skill expected for the narrative, you raised the skill of the doctor. I started at a +4, low level character. You immediately jumped to a level 13 character. You can't blame me for your choices to push the goalposts. Right, so even in a modern setting, the DC for an organ transplant is probably 20. The fact that it is a "medieval world" doesn't factor into it. Right, but here is where this conversation started. DC 10 to 15 with a +2? That is a success rate between 40% and 65%. If I have proficiency, that raises to a 50% to 75%. And since most DC 10's aren't rolled, and it is usually DC 15, we are looking at the 40% and 50% the majority of the time. Either way, if it is a little better than a coin flip... am I good at that? That's the point I'm bringing here. That despite everyone saying "you would be skilled and good at this" that when I look at those numbers, that's not the story those percentages tell.
