D&D websites - the cream of the crop?

Morrus

Well, that was fun

I want to plug a few websites in the news later this week. I have two or three in mind, but I thought I'd ask which websites you guys felt really were the top dogs, the cream of the crop, the bestest of them all (other than EN World and hosted sites, of course :) )

I'm not interested in traffic here - I'm not looking for the biggest sites or anything like that (although being big doesn't mean a site might not also be one of the best).

So, which sites are the best? And why? Please post your recommendations and a short desciption/reason why you feel it's so good. And please don't use this as an opportunity to plug your own site. :)

Good Idea...

Here is one Campaign site I was REALLY impressed with, and a couple other sites besides ENWorld that I visit daily:

http://www.definitivewebdesigns.com/falconmoor/

If you are a DM or a player thinking of starting your own campaign website , you should visit The Falconmoor site for inspiration. Over 50 Campaign logs have been archived, and each of them has pictures of relevant NPC's encountered to enhance the reading experince.

Don't forget to click on the links on the TOP bar of the site for campaign resources beyond the logs, including a "what the players know" section about the setting...

I visit Gaming Report every day, as there is usually some gaming news there that Krug & the other newshounds for ENWorld have missed:

Also, I visit PVP online for a daily dose of comic strip laughter:

Vincent Darlage's World of Inzeladun is a favorite of mine:

http://www.geocities.com/vincentdarlage/

It was nominated for an ENnie, but was competing against Vincent's own outstanding Conan site. The Inzeladun site is what I consider to be a campaign site done right - meticulous, imaginative, and all kinds of useful material. Even if you don't use it, or if you don't want to game in Vincent's world, his site can help inspire you to do your own homebrew world.

Edited to answer Morrus' request:

actually the 2 sites that have improved my roleplaying pleasure the most are:

www.ebay.com can find almost anything you might not have or might want.

and half.com :D the right price for some things.

but here are a few more:
http://www.svgames.com/ for the ESDs

http://www.acaeum.com/ for availability of products and a little history

http://mortality.net/board/ for DM advice

http://groups.yahoo.com/ hosts a site for your gaming group

http://www.opengamingfoundation.org/srd.html for the unofficial and official SRD

http://pub55.ezboard.com/bdanyonsgamingforums for a nice community

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/pcgen/ for downloads

It doesn't look like it has been updated in a while, most of the stuff is 2e, so I don't know if it qualifies. But really, most of the stuff is statless, well-written background info, and it's high quality across the board. I like it more with every article I read.

realmsof evil.net

reams of info, enuf to squash a man

and surprisingly thematically focused, something you don't see much
