d100 Locations

41) The Silent Wet Darkness
An underground river that PCs are rafting on. A permanent Silence and Darkness spell has been set at the edge of a waterfall. A bar is set that PCs can grasp or be knocked off a raft. Who is too say how far the bottom of the waterfall is and what is inside the water there.

42) The Wizard's Tower Bridge
A wizards tower has been collapsed and forms a bridge over a fast river. Magically it has not brojken any further. What lives inside? What if the added weight of a PC breaks the morter and thus collapses the tower into the water below?

anyone else want to play? I literally have hundreds of ideas as I always thought the location should be as important as the foe / creature itself.

43) The Sinking Ship

The ship your players were fighting a nasty creature on in a store has struck a reef. Every round it sinks another 2 feet and there is a 15% chance of the pounding waves will either wash up on deck causing all to do severe dex checks or something breaks free.

44) The Burning Ruins
You have caused a fire in a prior battle upstairs. No biggy. Then you run into an Iron Golem and the fire above has become an inferno and threatens to collapse the building onto you. and the Golem keeps on going.... ready to heal from any damage done to it as the fire reaches you.

45) A sea cave below a strange cliff-top village where the locals all have a queer, in-bred look to them. The sea cave itself is a base for smugglers and has a small dock built inside it. The dock workers here are Drowned Ones, the corpses of those taken by the sea and brought back using unholy magics. The heroes recognise a friend among the Drowned Ones, his features bloated and disfigured by long submersion in the sea.

46) The Hill of Effigies: a solemn and haunting site- a tightly packed mound filled with hundreds of thousands of carvings depicting the faces of the dead. A place of mourning and reverence, it serves as a way for people to ensure that their loved ones are recognized by the gods and guided safely into the afterlife. The carvings range from simple, weathered etchings to intricately detailed portraits, each imbued with the prayers of those left behind.

Structure: The hill rises gently, covered in a dense, chaotic collection of effigies. Wooden and stone carvings depicting human and non-human faces dominate every surface, their expressions ranging from serene to anguished. Narrow man-made paths and steep stairs wind through the cluster, providing access to pilgrims while adding to the eerie symmetry of the chaos.
  • The Known Faces: This section is dedicated to carvings of passed loved ones. Families create detailed depictions of the deceased, placing them carefully among the cluster. Many carvings are marked with small inscriptions or symbols of the departed’s life.
  • The Forgotten Faces: A somber area for nameless carvings, this section is filled with simple, featureless faces meant to honor victims of mysterious deaths, unclaimed bodies, or those lost to time. It is said the gods can grant these souls peace if their faces are recognized here.
  • The Paths of Memory: Narrow walkways and stairs weave through the site, built by mourners to navigate the overwhelming density of the effigies. Along these paths, small alcoves hold candles, incense burners, and offerings for passing spirits.

@atguppy welcome to the site. It is an old thread, but we do this all the time. I often wonder how new users come to the site and the first post is in an old thread, but now it will go another 10 pages.

I know lol I was honestly just looking for a d100 location table and found this, saw it was still incomplete after so much time and decided to input one of my own. To think this thread was created two months after I was born is absolutely wild, and it is absolutely undeserved for this to still be incomplete after 18 years of silence. Let's keep this going. Thank you for the warm welcome!
