d20 Disciples II: Dark Prophecy

I've been a big fan of turn based fantasy "roleplaying strategy" games, in particular the Heroes of Might and Magic series for a number of years. The other day, because I saw it for $9.99 and it was something I'd wanted to try for a while anyway, I picked up Disciples II: Dark Prophecy.

This game rocks, and the more I think about it, the more I think there's some great conversion potential in there in terms of creatures and prestige classes. Has anyone else tried out this game, and has anyone at all given any thought to how this could be "d20-fied?"

You know, I've had the game for a few months now, but just haven't had time to install and play it. I should do that with summer here.

I'm also a big fan of turn-based strategy games. I have whittled away so many hours with HoMM it's not even funny!

I love the disciples game ... and your avatar :P. Disciples would be an interesting conversion to d20, but kinda bland in my opinion. Only 4 kingdoms ... and the elves are like nomads by allies of the humans? Doesn't make much sense. Could turn into a very Birthright like campaign tho ... which might be fun.

I think I got you beat on price tho ... got mine for 4.99 at Big Lots (formerly Pic'n'Save)

Oh, I don't mean a direct conversion of the game into a campaign setting -- I had more in mind converting some of the more interesting classes and creatures into monsters and prestige classes and integrating them into a "regular" game.

My avatar, coincidentally, wasn't picked up because of the game. I don't even have the first game; I just found this picture online! I've been using it for a while now, but I've also been tempted to swap it out lately.

Haven't played either installments of the Disciples series, but I couldn't stand Heroes of Might & Magic. So far, only one I could bear to play (and still do to this very day!) is Master of Magic. Will look forward to seeing any conversions for this if it takes place, the content looks pretty cool.

If you liked Master of Magic, you should probably try out the original Age of Wonders game. It was very, very similar, but with updated graphics and units. The second installment is pretty good too, although all three series are certainly converging to a certain extent.

Hrm... I'll go take a look at the FAQs for this first then :) Thanks.
