Mellafleur Bocachica "I don't think so," hissed the yazarian. "You ain't gonna get a better deal anywhere else," countered the dralasite. Yalas had been looking everywhere for a 2210VS Magrin gauss pistol, including Forgone Station and the House of the Universe, with no luck. Only a few prototypes had been made and they, as the old saying went, 'were as good as gold.' But the sly dralasite, known to most as Mell, knew what she had, and wasn't going to let anyone slide for less than a cool Cr300.000. Yalas growled, but held himself from showing his teeth. "Do you take me for a Terran monkey? That kind of price is for fools." "It's a steal. In fact, it's the sale of the %3@*& millenium," bellowed Mell, whose patience seemed to be waning. "You know it's worth ten times that to certain people. Besides, the simple fact is that I have what you want, and if you don't pay what I'm asking, I will find those certain people." For a moment, Yalas glared at Mell as if he could burn through her with his eyes. Then suddenly, his gaze relaxed, and he pulled out his ID chip and tossed it to Mell. "This better be worth it," he muttered. Mell scanned the chip, and Yalas punched his code into the scanner, approving the transaction. The dralasite then pulled out a black case from a concealed panel in the floor and placed it on the table next to them, motioning for Yalas to open it. Yalas pressed on the silvery clasps, and the case popped open. His eyes went wide as he looked on one of the most dangerous weapons in the galaxy. He closed the case with a snap, snatched it up, and headed for the door. "Pleasure doing business with you," called Mell as what may have been a dralasite smile crossed her face. Without looking back, Yalas raised a hand, and said, "The pleasure was all yours." Back in his ship, Yalas plotted a course off the god-forsaken asteroid known as Bocachica, and through the field to safer space. A smile slowly crept across the yazarians face. "No one ever said that dealing with Mellafleur was easy, but if that was hard, maybe I'll rethink trying to fly through a black hole." He flicked a few switches, kicked in the engines of his one-man fighter, and took off like a shot for his next stop, the Eye of Ral. It was there he would encounter the real challenge.
