d20 Modern - Best mechanics to develop a super soldier?

First Post
I'm running a d20 Special Ops games. One of the characters doesn't know it, yet, but his parents participated in a project that involved injections and treatments that modified his DNA before birth. His twin brother was kidnapped and experimented on for a test subject and a comparison for his physical and mental development.

I know how the story is going to work, but I'm wondering if there is any sort of mechanic in a reference or a prestige class that can show his development as a super soldier?

Try the Helix Warrior prestige class from the Future SRD. I think it could use some tweaks, but it's a start.

That's if you want gradual development. You could also just slap on a template --- say, +4 Str, Dex, and Con, maybe a few bonus feats --- Alertness, Eidetic Memory, Iron Will, etc.

To make a super soldier, in D20 future at least, you should go to town on the enhancements. Nanites, cybernetics, gene-tweaking (There is no theoretical limit I can see to how high you can make someones genes go) mutations and just about anything you can think of. Training is also key to making a good soldier, but your player's background makes this unlikely. Whoever is interested in him must have some plan for inducing both loyalty and skill, and that is to me the most interesting part of the whole operation.

Here see this: Super Soldier. We are also doing a reject version of the Super Soldier called Weapon Alpha releasing February 1st.

i usualy do different things depending on the concept. In this case, i'd use gene modifications or a template. If you don't like playing around too much with the game use genetic modifications, they're somewhat more balanced.

As was suggested, a template is your best option. I would put a level adjustment on the character as well...to keep things fair for the other players.

Mood-wise, you could gradually apply the template.

Player: "Hey I leveled! I get to add a point to one attribute."
DM: "Actually you need to add 4 points."

And don't explain yourself!
