I agree totally with you on the Mage, Acolyte, Telepath, and Battlemind advanced classes, jaerdaph. They are generic enough that they could have been included in the srd...but technically there is nothing stopping a company from making their own Mage advanced class and basing it off of the wizard/sorceror core classed from in the D&D SRD...which could be part of the reason they weren't included... The Mage advanced class has the same BAB, Saves, and Spell progression (a 10th level wizard only has access to 5th level spells as well...) as a Wizard....both the Wizard and the Mage are granted Arcane Spells, Arcane based Skills as class skills, and the ability to summon a familiar at 1st level.... the only differences between the two is Mage only goes to 10th (like all Advanced Classes)...their bonus feats are gained at 3rd,6th, & 9th levels...they don't get Scribe Scroll until 2nd level...they gain Scribe Tattoo (something a wizard doesn't get) and they are granted Spell Mastery at several levels as opposed to having to take a feat for it like wizards....Mages also get Combat Casting and Maximize feats for free at certain higher levels. Mages also have Defense & Reputation bonuses..... I haven't really checked the others...but I would assume you find a simialar trend amongst them as well..(being based off of core classes from D&D)
