It is with great excitement and anticipation that I’d like to announce the impending launch of the newest campaign setting for D20 Modern, Treasure Hunter. This campaign setting takes as its inspiration such treasure hunter films as “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider,” “Romancing the Stone” and “The Mummy.” It is a modern-era, real-world setting with a limited amount of magic, a world in which intrepid heroes explore the hidden corners of the earth in search of ancient treasures and forgotten lore.
My goal is to create a comprehensive campaign setting that is entirely fan-driven and completely open content, where anyone with an interest in the genre is able to contribute. Since the materials are to be released free of charge, there’s no money to be made; you won’t be able to acquire any fortune, but perhaps a little glory. I’m looking for all sorts of input, including mechanics (new advanced classes, feats, artifacts and such) as well as setting- and culture-based resources and adventures.
