We all know the obvious: Special Unit 2, Buffy, Angel, Charmed ...

But what about Friday the 13th The Series, Touched By An Angel, The Tomorrow People, Dr. Who ...

How would you do these or would you do these?

Now that would be an interesting game/background. I also think some of the less obvious shows might make for good game backgrounds. Some of the old police shows might work.

Only if it's directed by the fellow that did The Prophesy and stars Christopher Walken.

Hmm, Touched by an Old Testament Angel Representing a Wrathful God... I think that would do much better on TV.

How would you do these or would you do these?

Friday the 13th -- easy enough to do as an RPG if you have one PC or NPC who could point the direction to a curio-shop-item-gone-bad. then you could fill the party with any combination of d20 Modern basic classes -- and it may allow for some of the advanced classes (like the FX types)

Touched By An angel - i've never watched the show, but i imagine it would be difficult to run a game where the PCs are angels.

The Tomorrow People - a group of PCs with psionic abilities augmented by technology (like the belts (later bracelets) that helped them jaunt/teleport) no problem

Dr Who - unfortunately, really tough to pull off. the Dr Who RPG (like James Bond, like the new Buffy game) centers around one character who much more powerful than those around them (The Doctor > his companions; 007 > any other non-00 agent; a Slayer > the white hats/scooby gang)

at the very least, if you could get away with a 1st level Time Lord, the ECL would have to be fairly high

I am already doing a Tomorrow People type game. Its going relativly well but they cant jaunt yet. That wont happen for a while.

Touched by an Angel could be done with a celestial template ..
