D20 Modern Warhammer 40k campaign

First Post
A couple of my gf's housemates are gamers, into 40K and also willing to roleplay too. I offered to gm a d20 modern game set in the 40k universe, and theyv'e agreed to the proposition.

d20 Modern seems by and large fine for the setting, and I've got loads of material from all 3 editions of the sci-fi wargame so there's lots to work from. However, I was wondering if anyone knew of any d20 attempts that had already been made to translate 40k stuff over? Anything like advanced/prestige classes, feats and psychic power coverage in particular.

Not to my knowledge, though there is a Warhammer Fantasy RPG out. I'm pretty sure both WotC and GW try to discourage any cross platform-ness since they are somewhat of rivals and all.

Also, the Warhammer 40k Universe is pretty much all over the place in terms of magic, psionics and technology. I think it would be quite a feat to figure out a balanced system, and even harder to make 40k players happy with the translation.

I keep toying with the idea of a 40K roleplaying excursion myself. My current line of thinking would be to use the Mutants and Masterminds system to run things. It has the advantages of being fairly simple (especially for a superheroes game) and letting you do whatever the heck you want. It includes pretty straight-forward rules for creating powers, weapons, armor, and gadgets. Just set a power level for your characters and baddies, and things should fall into place. Probably less power balance problems in this system than trying to put together a set of new equipment, advanced classes, and new races for d20 Modern.

Disclaimer: While I continue to read the system over and over again, I have yet to run a game of MnM. Just so you know.

My suggestion to you is Judge Dredd d20.

Already has most of the ingredients for 40k. Bolters, pyskers armor, bikes ...all you need to do is add elves, dwarves and who knows what else.

bake on 300 for 30mins or until golden brown.
